Betaine HCL provides 750 mg betaine hydrochloride making it essential for those who have low production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which is far more common than was once thought and does not only effect the elderly and the chronically ill. Taking 1-2 tablets just before a meal aids digestion of all foods, including red meat and aids assimilation of nutrients.
